We thought that a reunion for our theatre graduates is long-overdue. We’d like to welcome alumni from the English: Writing and Performance and Theatre: Writing, Directing and Performance programmes to the Theatre department this summer for a reception and buffet, a tour of the department, and to watch some of our best student actors perform John Vanbrugh’s The Provoked Wife.
Date: Saturday 21 June
Time: 5pm (The performance will start at 7.30pm).
Admission: £10 for pre-show refreshments and The Provoked Wife Ticket
Tickets for this special Alumni event can be purchased through the Alumni Yorkspace website (scroll down to ‘York – Theatre alumni reunion’).
Many of you have been involved in productions whilst you were at the University. We hope you’ll enjoy seeing our current students performing on our scenic stage theatre. The play is directed by Mike Cordner and Tom Cantrell.
The English: Writing and Performance degree started by Mike and Mary in 2000 is now part of the new Theatre, Film and Television department, and in 2010 we moved into our new home on Heslington East. We’re very lucky to have three performance spaces as well as rehearsal rooms, TV studios and a cinema in the same building. As graduates of the department, or its forerunner in English, and as ex-students of ours, we’d be delighted to welcome you back.
This would be a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow class-mates and tutors, share stories about your studies and subsequent careers, and to see the new department in action.
We hope to see you back in York in June.
All the best,
Professor Mike Cordner
Dr Tom Cantrell
Dr Ollie Jones
