On Friday 20 June at 5:45pm we welcome the UK’s leading theatre critic, Michael Billington, to discuss ‘Restoration Comedy on the Modern Stage’ with director Michael Cordner.
Michael and Michael’s conversation on ‘Jacobean Theatre Now‘ was a highlight of the 2013 Festival of Ideas, and we are delighted that Michael Billington is able to return this year.
Michael Billington is the UK’s longest established and leading theatre critic. He writes for The Guardian and is also the author of a celebrated biography of Harold Pinter.
Michael Cordner is a world authority on Restoration Comedy and has directed numerous productions of Renaissance and Restoration plays at the University of York. Recent shows include John Marston’s The Dutch Courtesan,
and Thomas Middleton’s A Mad World, My Masters!
